ZonaZoo4Food - Let's Can Hunger!

October 16 - 25, 2009

Help can hunger by bringing food to the following locations: October 23 - Bear Down Friday, in front of Chipotle's in Main Gate Square; October 24 - ZonaZoo tailgate near Cherry; October 16-25 - ASUA Office and Greeklife houses. Food donations will be partially matched by Campbell's Soup. There will be a spectacular prize for top donors!

2nd Annual Pharmacology4Food Drive to benefit the Community Food Bank

October 19 - November 25, 2009

Please bring your food donations to the main office hallway in Life Sciences North, 5th Floor. The items listed below are some suggestions as to what could go into a "Basic Food Bag." Whatever you decide to bring is greatly appreciated!

Basic Food Bag

1 box or bag of cereal, 1 peanut butter; 1 jelly; 2 canned vegetables (includes beans); 2 ramen noodles; 1 soup (canned or dried); 1 pasta (l lb); 1 spaghetti sauce; 2 canned meats or fish (ex. tuna or Spam); 1 can fruit

Athletes 4 Food

2010 Dates TBA

Student-athletes will compete against coaches, staff and athletic administrators to see who can raise the most food in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. The "Student-Athletes 4 Food" drive will occur during the month of March. This will be an internal effort by the student-athletes, coaches and staff.

UA4Food Faculty & Staff Drive

March 15 - April 7, 2010

We all know that UA faculty, staff, and appointed professionals are among the most charitable anywhere! During this time drop off locations for food and monetary contributions will be placed throughout the UA. Check back on Friday, March 12 for a list of drop off locations and department ambassadors. Give easily and securely through the Food Bank's virtual giving center. This drive will wrap up with the Staff Advisory Council's "Stuff the CatTran" event on Wednesday, April 7.

Tran Passenger Drop Off Zone at Cherry & University

Participate in the second annual "Stuff-The CatTran" event organized by the Staff Advisory Council, Parking & Transportation Services, and UA Community Relations. Community members are encouraged to contribute unopened canned and non-perishable items, in particular cereal, canned meats and canned vegetables. Cash contributions will be accepted.

April 8 - 9, 2010

Combine fun with philanthropy! Receive $5 off your Spring Fling wrist band purchase on Thursday and Friday night with the donation of a jar of peanut butter or canned vegetables.

Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) "Run for your Life" 5K & Food Drive Celebration!

2010 Date TBA -  on the UA Mall

SHAC presents their third annual "Run for Your Life" 5k fun run/walk on the UA Mall. Partnering with the UA Office of Community Relations, the run will serve as a celebration for the UA4Food campaign. Proceeds benefit the Tucson Community Food Bank and Heifer, International, to help end hunger here at home and abroad. A $15 pre-registration fee and $20 day of run/walk fee will cover the cost of donations and includes a t-shirt, refreshments, and a chance to win prizes and giveaways on the day of the event.
